Yarmouth is a great base point for exploring both the South and Acadian Shores in an RV. Acadian identity is still strong here, allowing you to immerse yourself in their culture, tradition and food.

Throughout the 19th century, it was a major shipbuilding centre and it was here that the screw propeller was first demonstrated in the summer of 1833. Wealthy captains and shipowners built imposing residences close to the port and these can still be seen today on a heritage walk of the historic district in which they stand.

If lighthouses take you back to a bygone era, Yarmouth has one of the most picture perfect at Cape Forchu. Here you'll find walking paths, picnic sites and spectacular views over the water ... a visit late in the day might reward you with a spectacular sunset. Pick up some Rappie pie and dine in your RV as you watch the sun go down over the horizon - it's the specialty dish of this region - tasty and unique.
