A central focus of this town of fewer than 1000 residents is the imposing red roof of the Hotel Tadoussac built in the 1940s on the site of a previous hotel. It sits majestically between the sandy beach lining the shore of Tadoussac Bay and the tree covered hills behind it. Photographers will find great spots for photography around the Port area. The Tadoussac chapel facing the bay is the oldest wooden church still standing in Canada. If you’re visiting in June, the Festival de la Chanson transforms Tadoussac into a cultural capital with a huge lineup of Francophone activites and shows amid a family-like atmosphere.
The Charlevoix region is well suited to RV camping and touring. Many visitors choose to rent a motorhome to explore the region and campgrounds are plentiful. Picturesque bays and small villages like Tadoussac are dotted along the shoreline, making this area ideal for RV road trips. Keep your eyes peeled as you travel in this area as it's often possible to get a view of whales from the shore as they feed in the Saint Lawrence River.
