Banff is the number one destination for Guests who rent an RV from our Calgary location - and for good reason.
It's a place where the best elements of nature meld together to create something truly spectacular. Lying in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and only a 90 minute drive from Calgary, the rugged peaks of Mount Rundle and Mount Cascade dominate Banff’s breathtaking skyline.
On Banff Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques and restaurants mix with château-style hotels and souvenir shops, yet the village still manages to retain it's small-town charm. The surrounding 6,500 square kilometres of parkland are home to lakes, canyons and abundant wildlife, including elk and grizzly bears.
Banff Alberta is an all-season destination. Winter brings some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the Rockies while summertime activities are too numerous to mention. It's the home base of Canada's first National Park, after hot springs were discovered in the area more than 100 years ago. That site has now been preserved and visitors can see where it all began at Cave & Basin National Historic Site. Bathing here is no longer allowed but those with the desire to enjoy the hot springs experience can head to the Banff Hot Springs. Next to the hot springs is the base of the Banff Gondola which will whisk you to the top of Sulphur Mountain for some jaw-dropping views of the surrounding landscape. No need to wonder what to do in Banff - the answer is all around you.
A number of Banff National Park Campgrounds are available for RV camping but reservations are essential in peak season. Banff is definitely a place to include in your RV vacation plans.
